Another advantage of this new platform is the “cloud-based” authoring tool which will allow town personnel to update the site content.  This will allow us to keep the site current with less effort and at less cost than the previous web site.

This new platform also supports “RSS” feeds! Visitors to our new site who subscribe to our RSS feed will receive news updates automatically in their RSS reader.   If you are unfamiliar with RSS feeds, perhaps the best place to begin is by visiting www.google.com/reader.  The RSS feed for the Town of Bermuda Run is located at http://www.townofbr.com/?feed=rss2 ~ this feed will update any time we post an article on our “News” page.

Over the next several months we plan to leverage this new publishing platform to implement new web services to serve our residents and visitors.  Stop by again soon… or subscribe to our RSS feed by using the yellow RSS button on our home page.
